What would freedom fighter Frederick Douglass say about modern day Anacostia? The first official Lion Ride honoring Frederick Douglass brought the community together to reignite Douglass’ legacy. The event was a great way to learn about how Anacostia residents connect to the history and sacrifice of Frederick Douglass.
Over 90 riders, food trucks, and tourists climbed the historic Cedar Hill to be part of the event. Check out the pics and get your wheels ready for the next ride in 2013!
A big thanks to WABA, National Park Service, Bike and Roll, Bicycle Space, Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative and Langston Grille on Wheels for their organization, support and sponsorship!!
See you next year!
