DC Yoga Week in Anacostia ends on a sad note as we mourn the Godfather of Go-Go, Chuck Brown. Tendani Art Place will dedicate this week’s Vibe Session Open Mic to Chuck Brown’s musical legacy on Thursday 5/17/12 at 8pm.
Chuck recently walked the streets of MLK Jr. Ave SE during a photo exhibit by Artist Thomas Sayers Ellis called, “Un Lock it, People in the Go-Go Pocket”.

Ellis interviewed Chuck just in time to learn about the inside culture of Go-Go and how Chuck felt as he turned 75 years old.
Join us as we celebrate the man who kept the DC Go-Go scene alive and played every performance from the heart. My favorite Chuck Brown tune reminds us to live with swing and let our worries get carried away with the drums. RIP Chuck Baby!
