June 12, 2010

Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 3 pm to 6 pm, Ward 7 Arts presents The Dancing Griot: Life and Legacy of Melvin Deal at Kelly Miller Middle School, located at 49th and Clay Street NE.

This is a free program, which includes a free DVD and exquisite entertainment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (202) 399-1997.

I recently met Melvin Deal at his African Heritage Dance Center on Good Hope Road SE. Mr. Deele is an extremely charismatic and positive community activist. His dedication to educating the children of Anacosita is unmatched. He teaches West African drumming, dancing and culture classes and welcomes dancers of all levels and ages on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Congratulations Melvin Deal!
